Our Story

Sally and Ronnie are both native Floridians with saltwater in their veins.

Ronnie grew up in St. Petersburg, fishing the Gulf Coast from a young age and running charters during the summer months. He later attended dive school and spent 20 years traveling the world as a saturation diver and underwater welder — but fishing was always home. Over the years, he’s landed 30+ swordfish (largest 376 lbs.), 20+ blue marlin, and hundreds of yellowfin tuna and wahoo — and he’s still chasing that triple-digit wahoo and 500+ lb. swordfish.

Sally grew up in Miami with a love for boats and the water, though her early fishing days were spent in local canals and offshore for mahi in South Florida. When she met Ronnie in 2019, she was quickly introduced to the offshore life — including an unforgettable first trip to the “Otherside,” where they found a five-mile weed line stacked with mahi. She’s now been on 100+ offshore trips, including a 14-day Bahamas adventure to Cat Island, San Salvador, and Crooked Island, where she caught her first blue marlin.

The two were married at sunset on Anna Maria Island in March 2021. During their honeymoon in the Keys, they found their dream boat — a 2020 39’ Contender — and secured it by chance (and perfect timing). That boat became the foundation of what is now Naughty Rooster Fishing.

Today, we run offshore charters out of Florida’s east coast, specializing in yellowfin tuna, swordfish, and wahoo. We swordfish year-round, high-speed troll and live bait for wahoo from October through March, and chase yellowfin tuna when the conditions line up. From running and gunning on birds for yellowfin to targeting deep-water swords, we’re all about strategy, skill, and serious action.

We love what we do, and we’d love to share it with you. Let’s go catch something big.
